Compliance Issues
The Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Higher Learning Commission (Miami's accrediting body) and the US Department of Education require that Miami secure special approvals for the following compliance issues:
- Some or all of the program will be offered at a location that is off-site (not on a Miami campus).
- Any of the program's content or credit hours could be completed online.
- Students who are physically in another state can complete requirements for the program.
- Instructors for the program may be hired for the program who do not have terminal degrees in the field.
- Some or all of the content in the program was created by another entity outside of Miami (e.g., third party vendor)
- The program will be jointly delivered by another higher education institution.
- The program will be offered outside of our traditional semesters. (Note: This is generally not allowed except if necessary for accreditation purposes.)
